Long Time No Hello

So Miguel told me he was tired of reading about the damn crib. Sorry, Miguel, I hope you weren't expecting pictures, 'cause frankly it's too time consuming for me to get the camera hooked up to the computer to download the latest pics and then to upload them to the blog. Yep, absolutely no time for that. Maybe someday when my computer is in a more convenient area, maybe one where there's not a crib, but there is a TV, yeah maybe then.

The latest and greatest? I've been on the move. No, not actual moving, as in, out of my parents' house, but more on that later. I've actually been riding a bike, not stationary, like an actual bicycle, you know the kind we all rode as children? Well, that's what I've been doing, except that the bike isn't a child's bike, but instead my mom's old Huffy cruiser bicycle. It had been sitting in the storage for the longest time and then one day, me, jealous that my friend Blythe has the most awesome bicycle ever and gets to ride it all over town, I finally asked my dad if anything was wrong with the bikes in the storage. He said the tires were flat. That was all. So he put some air in them and off I went. I was a peddling fool! I felt so alive. Or more like I felt like Vada from My Girl.

I couldn't remember the last time I rode a bike. And you know that saying, "It's like riding a bicycle, you never forget." I kinda forgot how to peddle and stuff. No, I didn't fall over, but I was a little rusty and unstable and also forgot how to brake. It didn't take me long to figure it out though. But now that I have a bike to ride, I can now join Blythe riding around town, and riding around town, we do!

This latest endeavor has been my newest source of pure joy. It's so easy, I get fresh air, some exercise, it's awesome. Even though I have my mom's old bike, I still really want a bike like Blythe's. Maybe if I save my pennies I can get a similar one later. (I tried to post a pic of the bike, but the website won't let me. If you're really that interested, google Electra Bikes, click on the Cruiser style, and check out the options for ladies. They are too cute! I'm very undecided as to which one I would want.)

Moving on, my other source for pure joy, my dear sweet Lucero...oh my gosh, my girl is growing up and she's so smart. She will grab my keys and try putting them in keyholes in doors. Plus, she does other stuff that indicates she's smart. She'll get tissue and put it to her nose and make little blowing noises, the same mommy makes when she blows her nose. She's not actually blowing anything out though, but still she understands the idea behind it. She's sleeping a bit better in her crib, some nights are better than others, but she's doing better. We still are not at the point of her putting herself to sleep in the crib, but maybe someday. She says no a lot. Sometimes she says yeah. She says Isaiah really well. She calls everyone mom. She really likes the show Yo Gabba Gabba and the Backyardigans and (unfortunately) Dora. No offense to Dora, I mean, I know us Latinas should support each other, but she really annoys me, what with the way she inflects certain words. And Lucero loves to dance. She shakes her groove thing any time she hears music.

I'm running short on time. Ha, imagine that coming from a mother. Anyway, I'll try to post sooner and give you other updates, especially on Golightly. Later, my sweets.
