Ten on the Tenth

I borrowed this idea from fellow blogger Finding Him Bigger.

1. I'm back. The job opportunity didn't work out. That's all I'm going to say about that, but hey, it's good news for everyone else 'cause your favorite Pecos girl is back.

2. Lucero is done with nursing. She quit me a couple of weeks back. It was heartbreaking. I thought I would be ready for it, but nope. My baby is growing up and is slowly saying goodbye to me little by little.

3. I already know what I'm getting Lucero for Christmas, but I haven't yet pulled the trigger to do so. She's only getting three gifts, 'cause seriously, she's only 18 months, she has plenty of stuff already and I know there will be plenty of others giving her gifts as well.

4. Oh, did I mention my little one came in contact with H1N1? Yep, she did. She had a fever that wouldn't go away and she was growing more and more lethargic, so we took her to a doctor and luckily we caught it in time and were able to offer her Tamiflu. We didn't find out until a week later that it was swine flu and by then she was feeling so much better. But it made me nervous, after all I share a room with her, so I immediately downed some Airborne.

5. Halloween came and went and Lucero dressed as a piggy. I didn't take her trick-or-treating, but took her to the church's Harvest Fest. Believe me, the girl doesn't need more candy.

6. Golightly is talking more and more. I haven't actually spoke to her for a couple of weeks now, but I did get an update from her mother and she said Golightly is communicating better and even told her "Mom I need to shit now." So I guess her curse words are still in tact.

7. Though the following is highly personal, it's important to share 'cause it shows progress: Golightly is menstruating again. Her monthly bill showed last month and then again last week. I'm assuming this means her reproductive health is coming around just like the rest of her.

8. And in super exciting news: I will be visiting Golightly next month. Her mother is throwing a birthday celebration and visitors from all around are flying in to see the birthday girl. I just have to share the words of the invitation with you:
"MIRACLES AND BIRTHDAYS, BIRTHDAYS AND MIRACLES
LET'S CELEBRATE
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO JOIN GOLIGHTLY AND HER FAMILY
AS WE GIVE THANKS AND CELEBRATE THIS JOYOUS BIRTHDAY
AND MIRACULOUS OCCASION OF A THIRTY SECOND CHANCE AT THE WONDER OF LIFE"

I teared up reading that. I cannot wait to see my dear friend again.

9. I cannot believe we are already November. Oh, how time flies. And I'm never ready as the year slowly begins to dwindle to an end.

10. I really need to get on the ball with creating a holiday card. I have an idea, but we'll see how well miss little Lucero cooperates.

I missed you guys. Please, let's never part ways again.

I'm also glad to hear about Golightly b/c I had read her blog as well due to seeing it off your blog. I'm glad she's doing well and look forward to see how your meeting goes.
